Imatinib 100 mg is used as a cancer drug and comes under its brand name GLIVEC and is used for help with many types of cancer. Imatinib 100 mg is a medication generally prescribed for adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with Philadelphia chromosome chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) for whom bone marrow transplantation is not recommended, Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia along with \u00a0chemotherapy, yelodysplastic\/myeloproliferative diseases, advanced hyper eosinophilic syndrome with or without chronic eosinophilic leukemia and adult patients who are not recommended for surgery but are having DFSP.<\/p>\n

This medicine is very effective in reducing the growth of many types of cancer and is used and prescribed all the world.<\/p>\n

A brand named GLIVEC started producing Imatinib as an oral chemotherapy medicine for cancer patients. The USA approved this medication for use in 2001.
